Firing went well. I got ten nice teapots. They are for the two-men exhibition in Syracuse in March.
I threw a large platter and a large vase last two days. I used a really soft clay for the platter and a semi-soft clay for the vase. Vase is three sections. I wanted to two sections, but cut off too much clay from the top early on. I probably leave the platter undecorated and have a fun with the glazing, and decorate the vase with carving and stamps. The bottom section of the vase is a bit taller than I wanted. So I need to disguise it. There is lots of trimming for them.

Well, almost snowless and warm winter continues. I felt like shoveling everyday last winter. This is great! My arm is getting better, or I am getting used to the pain. Either way, I am making pots everyday. I have not done the mug week, yet, and may be not this year. I have not come up with new items for this year. I bought the drill press to make holes for the earring holders, but have not really tested in volumes. I figure twisting motion is not great for the tennis elbow. I have made several one-of kind teapots, not fired yet. I have two bisque, and am ready to fire next week.

I have been sickly last two weeks. Change of season, I guess. I think the fall is dragging long this year, and we finally had a couple of frost this week. I have been working lightly.
I got the refractory clay body for the sagger. It felt like throwing a sandpaper, but threw well. I hope this last longer then 4-5 firings.

I had fourth firing in one month this week, I think this is my record. I did not lose any piece due to oxidation, but one teapot, sort of. I tried to glaze differently, and came out just bad. I totally forgot that the turquoise glaze turned to red if glazed over the white glaze. I might try adding a decal on this teapot.
