After five hours of driving, plus one hour of the traffic jam near the downtown, thanks to “Go Pens” (Stanly cup final, Pens won last night), it took me three hours to unload and move my stuffs to my assigned booth last night. It was long way from the van to the booth. It was just exhausting. I set up the booth this morning.

This is a new location from the previous three years. There is two separate locations, usual for week-long exhibitors and new for weekend-exhibitors. I was worried not many people show up, but there were many people. The cross from us is the music stage, and after 7PM, there were lots of people. It was cool to listen the live music from own boot. It became bit too noisy to talk with customers.

Trimming and attaching handles to pitchers. As I trimmed while water spray on my hand, I could see the ware getting drying in front of me. I had bisque firing yesterday, and the studio is very warm just from spring-like sun. It was very dry… I brushed the wax around the handle to slow drying and covered them with plastic before I left.

Good news is the berry bowl I trimmed the day before looks ready for the bisque.

Lose some and gain some…

I dodged the bullet, so to speak. One third of the kiln was under-fired slightly, that the thermostat and cone were indicating . The kiln was stalled and the wind started to make me nervous at that time. I was more worried about the bad oxidation and glaze crawling , but most pieces were fine. I can re-fire them later.
Now, I have pieces to list on the Etsy. This will be the first 2009 pieces, as well as the first kiln load in almost one month.

And, this is my new teapot. I am quite pleased.
